The Story
Séverine Fouché
Originally from France, now living and working in Edinburgh, Séverine has a lifetime interest in fashion, design and embroidery. She followed her passion into professional training at art school Gilles Jamain in Rochefort, specialising in tambour beading, gold work embroidery and traditional embroidery techniques.
Following her training, Séverine worked in several Haute Couture workshops in Paris, including Hurel and Julien Fournier. After relocating to Scotland, she worked for several years in the clothing industry — creating patterns from block bodices, designing wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, jackets, coats and evening wear.
Sustainability in fashion is the driving force in her creativity and design. For many years she has been making her own clothing, sourcing fabrics and embellishment materials from second-hand and recycling stores — creating a signature style and the delight in wearing well-made, well-fitted clothes that express your personality.
My garments and accessories can be found at designer fairs around Edinburgh, including Summerhall Art Boutique. Follow @Needle_Bow on Instagram and Facebook for upcoming events.
Classes: Regular classes in gold work, tambour beading, and dressmaking at Remode Collective.
